Susan Ball was raised on a farm in England and trained as a biologist and a botanist. She has a keen appreciation of the natural world which translates into her work. Her still-life paintings display meticulous detail of form and her landscapes reflect her love of nature on a broader scale. She lives in Sonoma County where her subjects range from the bloom on a grape to the ever-changing light over the countryside.
